Is there a new update for the Samsung Glyde called BK14? The last known update that I knew of was BI29. Please respond with any information

Yes BK14 is the latest firmware. However, there is new hardware U940.11 (referred to as the "refresh) that replaced the capacitive touchscreen with a resistive one. The touchscreen now works perfectly on the refresh. Check out: http://www.samsung-glyde.com/general-samsung-glyde-discussions/got-the-glyde-refresh-today/?PHPSESSID=0b63bacae1dedf969a40c585b1655757

I went to the Verizon store the other day and I was very disappointed with them.  I told them my phone had a "poltergeist" and would open up menus by itself, call people by itself, freeze, and the usual glyde problems.  All they said was, "your phone is a software update behind so we will fix it and you wont have anymore problems". Then they mentioned the new glyde refresh or whatever, so we asked if we could just go ahead and exchange for that, but they refused and continued saying that the update would fix it.  I got it updated and then on my way home my phone started acting up again.  I was so mad so now I have to set up to get the new glyde.  I wish they would have fixed the problem before it began!!!

That's crap. I'd demand a new one; it should be in your contract (the ability to get a new one).

no question about it, Verizon should replace your phone (insurance or not), expecially if you have had the phone for less than 12 months.

just call Verizon, ask for someone in technical support, and tell them that you are having touchscreen issues.  they will send a refresh to you without charge (or shipping) within 2 days.

if the first representative does not do this exactly.  hang up, and call again.  keep calling until you get someone helpful.

once you get the refresh, you'll be glad you went through the trouble.
