This is for all the people out there interested in buying a Glyde but are "intimidated" by all the bad reviews that have been out there.

As of April 2009, Samsung has replaced the old Glyde with what most are calling the Glyde Refresh. Basically Samsung ditched the capacitive touchscreen in favor of a resistive touchscreen, meaning you won’t be able to read the screen’s contents on a sunny day, but the phone should work properly. Major improvements have been made in the overall functionality of the phone including a greater sensitivity level to the touch, and a touch calibration screen, but no software UI changes were made - the appearance is that of the same old Glyde.

This new Glyde is receiving a lot of great reviews and is one of the best phones I have owned. Now I wont lie and tell you that this phone is perfect. There are still some complaints regarding updating mobile AIM, music player functionality (not being able to do anything while listening to music), computer connection issues, and other minor issues. I believe these are all products of Verizon software though and not Samsung. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Anyways the New Glyde's being sold now (The model number is SCH-U940 DBE, very important) has an almost flawless touchscreen (can even use stylus pen if you like). I am glad that they have made this change and it is now the phone that it should have been almost a year ago.

So to all the people that are looking to buy a Samsung Glyde... Please ignore all past posts and reviews dated earlier that April 2009, that is not the phone you will get.
